Abdul's Post-"Idol" Career Uncertain
After being unceremoniously dismissed from the judges' panel on "American Idol," the future of Paula Abdul's career is uncertain.
Despite rumors that she might make a cameo appearance on the hit ABC show, "Ugly Betty," or be a judge on the reality show, "Dancing with the Stars," it looks like Abdul is hoping to reprise her spot on "Idol."
The "Ugly Betty" cancellation came at the last minute. The episode in which Abdul was set to play a temp at Mode magazine was supposed to film this week, the L.A. Times reports.
According to Bodog Beat, Abdul might be willing to return to "Idol" for less than the $10 million she demanded during recent contract negotiations.
However, it seems unlikely that Abdul's wish to return to "Idol" will be fulfilled since guest judge Victoria Beckham is reportedly in the running to receive a permanent offer. Still, nothing is set in stone; News24.com reports that Fox is worried that Beckham's thick British accent and ultra-skinny figure will alienate viewers and the anticipated offer depends upon feedback from focus groups.
