Abercrombie and Fitch sues Beyonce

Abercrombie & Fitch the clothing chain has decided to bring forth a lawsuit against Beyonce. The chain is suing due to the fact that their fragrance 'Fierce' could be in competition with the supposed release of a fragrance by her called 'Sasha Fierce'. They feel that consumers will be confused by the two, and could possibly take business from the chain.

The word fierce is another way to describe something that can be either cool or fabulous, just sounds more refined and bolder in terms of language. Abercrombie's fragrance has been around since 2002, and they feel Beyonce's perfume could deny control over their trademark scent. The lawsuit at hand seeks to stop production claiming undermining practices by Coty. Inc who will be working with Beyonce to make the fragrance.

According to Reuters.com, Coty Inc. executives made a statement today, "that they do not intend to name the fragrance after Beyonce's alter-ego -- Sasha Fierce -- and hence it would pose no threat to Abercrombie's product. "

A confirmation to the statement made by Coty Inc. was also made available by a publicist today. That Beyonce never intended to use the name 'Sasha Fierce' at all for the line coming out sometime in 2010.
