Abigail Breslin to Perform on Broadway
Abigail Breslin has gone from Little Miss Sunshine's awkward wannabe pageant kid, Olive Hoover, to Broadway.
She will play the role of Helen Keller in the revival of William Gibson's The Miracle Worker. Alongside Breslin will be Alison Pill, who will play Keller's teacher Annie Sullivan.
Breslin will make her Broadway debut March 3 at the Circle in the Square Theatre with preview performances beginning Feb. 12.
Breslin told the Augusta Chronicle "Helen is a hero of mine for so many reasons. She never gave up on herself and she had so many people who believed in her like her teacher Annie Sullivan."
In 1960 The Miracle Worker took home the Tony Award for best play.
Kate Whoriskey will direct the revival which "marks the 50th anniversary of the play's Broadway debut," according to the Los Angeles Times.
Other actors and actresses that have taken to the stage this year include Scarlett Johansson, Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes.
