AC/DC Holds Top Spot on This Week's Top 10
E! Online released this week's CD sales and AC/DC's Black Ice has taken the top spot yet again. The album sold 271,000 copies this week, taking the album over the platinum 1,000,000 mark in total since its release on October 20.
Pink's album, Funhouse, came in a close second selling 180,000 copies. While the singer has never achieved a number one album in the U.S., her single, "So What," reached the number one spot last September. Funhouse also topped the charts in the U.K., Switzerland, the Netherlands, and she even beat out AC/DC in their home country of Australia. Just below Pink, at number three this week, was Disney's soundtrack for High School Musical 3.
John Legend and Toby Keith hit the number four and five spots, respectively, with Legend selling 133,000 copies and Keith selling just over 90,000. Other notable chart toppers include Rascal Flatts' Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 taking the number six spot with 89,000 albums, Celine Dion's My Love: Ultimate Essential Collection at number eight with 57,000 albums, and U.K. natives Snow Patrol taking the ninth spot with their fifth studio album, A Hundred Million Suns. The last coveted spot on the top ten list was taken by Kenny Chesney with Lucky Old Son.
Taylor Swift took the top spot in digital releases with the song, "You're Not Sorry," which was downloaded over 150,000 times this week.
