Actor Chris Penn Dies

An autopsy is pending for the actor who was found dead in his apartment Tuesday.

Actor Chris Penn, who appeared in the film "Footloose" and more recently "Starsky and Hutch," was found dead in his California home Tuesday The Los Angeles Times reported.

An autopsy by the Lost Angeles County Coroner's office to determine the cause of death is still pending.

Penn is the brother of Oscar-winner Sean Penn and the two appeared together in the film "At Close Range" in 1986. Penn's mother, Eileen Ryan, was an actress and his father Leo, was a director.

Penn has been in many movies throughout his career including, "Rumble Fish," staring Matt Dillon, "All the Right Moves," with Tom Cruise and Quentin Tarantino's film "Reservoir Dogs" in 1992.

Penn's latest film, "The Darwin Awards," starring Winona Ryder and David Arquette is set to premiere Wednesday at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.
