Actor Corey Haim Dead at the Age of 38
Throughout his troubled life, actor Corey Haim endured constant struggles with cocaine and Valium addiction. The actor, whose most high profile role was in the 1987 film Lost Boys, had been admitted into drug rehabilitation over 15 times during his life, according to ABCNews.com. Haim’s battle with drug addiction came to a tragic conclusion on Monday morning at Burbank California’s Providence St. Joseph Medical Center.
He was pronounced dead at 2:15 A.M. PT as a result of what is being reported as an accidental drug overdose. According to MTV.com, Haim was discovered in his apartment complex by his mother who immediately called 911 for emergency assistance. The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office has revealed that an investigation as well as an autopsy examination will be conducted in response to the death of the 38-year-old actor.
Law enforcement officials have stated that bottles of prescription medication were located in the vicinity of his body in the apartment complex where he was found. Haim’s mother has revealed publicly that her son had struggled with prescription medication for years to go along with his well-documented addictions to cocaine and Valium.
Haim had been interviewed last month by TMZ in a video where he claimed that he had been doing well and was over his drug addictions.
