Actor Corey Haim Dies
Actor Corey Haim, 38, has been confirmed dead by the Los Angeles Police Department, People magazine reports. It is believed Haim died of an accidental overdose at 3:30am Wednesday after he reportedly became unresponsive in his California apartment, People reports.
People says Haim’s mother was supposedly by his side, and Haim was later pronounced dead at Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank, Calif.
Haim had a history of drug abuse after he rocketed to stardom in the ‘80s with hit films such as 1987’s The Lost Boys and Lucas. Haim was close friends with fellow actor Corey Feldman. The two even co-starred in The Two Coreys, an A&E reality show.
TV station KTLA was the first to hear the news from LAPD. KTLA reports Coroner’s Lt. Cheryl MacWillie said the official cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.
People reports Feldman once told Haim he wouldn’t talk to him until he became sober.
