Actor Doesn't Want a Tattoo
Felon star Val Kilmer was discouraged from getting a tattoo at an early age, when a co-worker likened it to wearing the same t-shirt of over ten years, WENN reports.
The actor, who plays a tattooed thug in the film, had thoughts of getting some body art himself, when he was 14. But when a gruff, tattooed colleague told him what it was really like, he had second thoughts.
"When I was a kid, about 14, I worked in a warehouse and there was the guy who had a tattoo - a standard sort of hula girl lady thing that looked all nasty," Kilmer remembers.
Curious, he decided to divulge to his older coworker. "I said, 'What's that like? I'm thinking of getting a tattoo,' the actor thinks back. "He said, 'Imagine waking up in the same T-shirt for 15 years.'"
And the analogy was enough to scare Kilmer into changing his mind. "He was an ugly dude so I was picturing him waking up in the T-shirt. It still haunts me."
