Actor Jeff Conaway passed away Friday at the age of 60 after two weeks in a medically induced coma.
Conaway, who starred in the TV show, Taxi, and played Kenickie in Grease, was brought to Encino Tarzana Medical Center on May 11 after the actor was found unconscious in his apartment.
Doctors placed him in the coma to help in his recovery.
According to USA Today, Conaway was suffering from pneumonia and sepsis, a type of blood poisoning, before suffering an apparent overdose on painkillers.
Conaway had battled addiction for years, even appearing on VH1's Celebrity Rehab.
The actor's family had requested to remove the feeding tube that was keeping him alive, Thursday. His longtime girlfriend, Vikki Lizzi, went to court to prevent that from happening.
E! News reports that the tube was removed Friday morning.
He is survived by his son, Emerson.
