Actor to Play 'Green Lantern' Chosen
DC Comics' Green Lantern, a superhero, who gets his super powers from a ring, will be played by Ryan Reynolds, who recently played alongside Sandra Bullock in The Proposal.
On Friday, JustJared.com posted that the choice had been narrowed down to Bradley Cooper, Justin Timberlake and Reynolds.
According to Reuters, Reynolds and his representatives began negotiating his contract on Friday.
Reynolds will be the first actor to play for both DC and Marvel Comics, according to BBC News. As a comic book hero, Reynolds most recently played Deadpool in Marvel Comics' X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
The Green Lantern will be directed by Martin Campbell and produced by Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti. Campbell also directed Casino Royale, The Legend of Zorro, and Golden Eye.
The search process to find an actor worthy of playing the Green Lantern took many months because Campbell, De Line and the studio couldn't agree on an actor, reported Reuters.
Icon vs. Icon reported that production is set to begin in January 2010.
