Adam and Albom Team Up

Adam Sandler's production company has acquired the rights to a baseball comedy written by best selling author Mitch Albom.

Adam Sandler, who is known for comedic movies, recently took a risk and joined Don Cheadle in the more serious film "Reign Over Me."

This summer Sandler returns to his roots in "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry," which is about two strait men who get married to gain insurance benefits. Along with "Chuck and Larry" Sandler, with his production company Happy Madison and Columbia pictures, purchased the rights to a baseball comedy with heart. The movie is being penned by best selling author Mitch Albom. Albom is best known for his novels: "Tuesdays With Morrie," "The Five People You Meet in Heaven," and "For One More Day," which have all been made--or in the process of being made--into television movies. With the exception of the screenplays that he adapted for the TV movies, this will be Alboms first attempt at writing a screenplay.

Some of Sandler's other credits include, "Saturday Night Live," "Happy Gimore" and "Big Daddy." Details about the plot of "Reign Over Me" are not available and it is not clear what type of character Sandler will play.
