Adam Lambert Could Come in Front After All
Although Adam Lambert was not Season 8's idol "front" runner, he could very well end up "front" man for Queen, according to Rolling Stone. While the deal has not been inked yet, guitarist Brian May is open to the idea.
Many felt that Lambert looked like a perfect fit when he performed with Queen for the American Idol finale. May told Rolling Stone, "It's not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn't that easy. But I'd certainly like to work with Adam. That's one amazing instrument he has there."
The speculation could be due in part to the recent termination of Queen's four-year relationship with Paul Rogers, leaving an opening for a new front man.
Lambert has been quoted by Reuters as saying, "I don't want to do one specific genre. I'm more about fusion. I kind of like adding little elements of things into the final mix." Lambert must consider if the unique identity he craves would be lost on this group that has not been able to produce much since the death of lead singer Freddie Mercury in 1991.
