Adam Sandler becomes a father and changes his focus

The comedian says he is ready to shift gears as a family man.

With his 40th birthday approaching in September, and the recent birth of his first child Sadie Madison, comedian Adam Sandler says its time to focus less on himself.

Sandler, famous for his box-office hits "Billy Madison" and "Mr. Deeds," told the New York Post about his new take on life.

"I've got the kid - I feel relief that I don't have to think about myself too much," Sandler said. "I've had 39 years just talking about how great I am. It's time, at age 40, to talk about the kid."

And it seems Sandler is just as excited about having a child in his life for the first time as his "Big Daddy" character Sonny Koufax.

"I love that kid. Every day, I get more and more excited and feel more comfortable with her. I just want her to feel comfortable with me," Sandler said.

His newest comedy "Click" opens in theaters Friday.
