Addison Gets a New Best Friend
Grey's Anatomy is one of the most watched and talked about shows on television right now. It is no surprise that with the success of the show a spin-off would be a no-brainer. The spin-off features Dr. Addison Montgomery, played by Kate Walsh, in her quest to relocate to Los Angles. The "pilot" was featured within an episode of Grey's Anatomy to test it on audiences. The show, coined "Private Practice," is equipped with an all-star cast and a more adult and slower feel. The role of Addison's best friend, Naomi Bennett, was originally played by "Alias" star Merrin Dungey. With production of the new show looming it has been announced that Dungey will be replaced by Broadway actress Audra McDonald. McDonald has won four Tony awards and was nominated for one this year for her role in "110 in the Shade." Although there are no concrete details, the cast shake-up is said to be for "creative reasons." "Private Practice" will be on Wednesdays at 9pm following the new show "Pushing Daisies" on ABC.
