It’s official. After many rumors and fans’ wishful thinking, British singer Adele has been confirmed as a Grammy Awards performer.

Adele, who broke records with her album 21 by becoming the best-selling artist of 2011, had undergone throat surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal chord just 2 months ago, which made it seem unlikely that she would be able to perform so soon.

On Tuesday, however, she tweeted a confirmation that she will be a performer come February 12. "Ima be, Ima be singing at the Grammys," she wrote, People reports. "It's been so long I started to forget I was a singer! I can't wait."

Adele is nominated for six Grammys at music’s most prestigious event. She is only surpassed by Kanye West with the most nods by one nomination.

The singer had to cancel her North American tour upon the setback with her throat. But the Grammys will mark her highly anticipated comeback to the stage, which she calls "an absolute honor."

She said in a statement, "I'm immensely proud to have been asked to perform at this year's Grammy Awards,” adding, "It's an absolute honor to be included in such a night and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all."
