Adele’s “Someone Like You” music video premiered on Thursday, September 29, and skipped all the special effects, costumes, choreography, glamour, and in-your-face story, and focused on emotions.
The video was directed by Jake Nava, and was shot on the streets of Paris during the early morning hours, according to MTV News.
Shot in black and white, the music video for the song, which already creates emotion with it’s lyrics, is a simple, yet powerful account of a breakup where life has turned out better for Adele’s former love than when she was with him.
With Paris as the backdrop and a saddened mood, Adele, who is described as a “ghost” in the video, creates an emotion anyone would feel after a breakup without theatrics.
