Adele's first post-surgery performance a capella for Anderson Cooper (Video)

No one was expecting megastar Adele's vocals to come out post-surgery until Sunday's Grammy Awards.

CBS released a video Friday from Adele's 60 Minutes interview with Anderson Cooper which is scheduled to air Sunday before the Grammys. A mere four months after vocal chord surgery, the singer gave Anderson Cooper an unexpected a capella performance.

Many have been expecting the singer to falter on Sunday, wondering if she's recovered from her emergency throat surgery to remove a polyp in November. Fans have waited patiently to see if the singer will return will her impressive vocals in tact. Proving she's good to go, Adele sang nearly a minute of hit "Rolling in the Deep."

The "Someone Like You" singer puts doubters to rest. Her trademark raspy, soulful sound fills the studio and knocks rumors that her voice hasn't recovered completely out of the park.

The singer also revealed the hardest part about recovering from her surgery was not being able to curse.

"The great thing is, because I love to swear, most of them (apps) you can't swear on but I found this one app where you can swear, so I was still really getting my point across," she says in the same 60 Minutes interview.

Adele has also spoken about the exact moment she knew something was wrong with her voice. Singing on a French radio station she said she felt "like someone put a curtain over my throat...and I could feel it. It felt like something popped in my throat."

Cooper commented on the interview, saying he jogs to her song nearly every morning and that he doesn't "think anyone who’s vaguely conscious doesn’t listen to Adele's songs."

Up for six awards at Sunday's Grammys, Adele's millions of fans are ready for the singer to return and reschedule her U.S. tour. Tune in to the Grammy Awards on Sunday at 8 pm Eastern, 7 pm Central on CBS.
