Adrien Brody Wants To Be An Action Hero
Adrien Brody, the wily and nose-prominent Oscar-winner stands in direct contrast with the ripped and intimidating physique of Arnold Schwarzenegger. It's likely because few could have predicted Brody playing the lead in the "Predator" re-make; a role that Schwarzenegger made famous in the original, reports Reuters.com
The re-make, which follows a group of gung-ho warriors being hunted by members of a brutal race of alien warriors, was written by Rodriguez, Alex Litvak and Michael Finch.
Brody will be playing a man who inherits leadership over the group of human warriors, though it is unknown at this point if he faces the same fate as Arnold's character.
The film, produced by "Spy Kids" and "Sin City" director Robert Rodriguez, will be a re-boot of what has been a profitable franchise for 20th Century Fox. The film will be directed by Nimrod Antal, a relative Hollywood unknown from Hungry. Antal has previously directed a film by the title of "Kontroll," but this will be the director's most mainstream production to date.
Alice Braga ("I Am Legend"), Mahershalalhashbaz Ali ("The 4400"), Walt Goggins ("The Shield"), Danny Trejo and UFC fighter Oleg Taktarov have already been cast in roles, and Topher Grace is in negotiations according to Reuters.com.
