Aerosmith Might Cancel Tour After Singer Sustains Injuries
After Aerosmith vocalist Steven Tyler, 61, fell off the stage Wednesday at the band's show in Rapid City, S.D., the future of the band's current tour is still in question. Tyler sustained injuries to his head, neck and shoulder in the fall and is "very sore," reports BBC News. The singer is recuperating in Aerosmith's native Boston.
Guitarist Joe Perry's wife, Billie, wrote on Twitter after the incident that there was "no word" when the tour might start again. The band cancelled a performance in Winnipeg scheduled for Friday, though no information on the Aerosmith web site mentions any other cancellations, according to ABC News.
Tyler had been dancing to entertain the crowd at the Rapid City show when equipment failure waylaid the band's set. According to ABC, a concertgoer who saw Tyler after the fall said his head was bleeding and he was holding his shoulder, though the seriousness of his injuries was not immediately clear.
The singer's condition has not yet been disclosed.
