Aerosmith tour is cancelled after Tyler's accident in South Dakota
After much deliberation the band Aerosmith has decided to cancel the remaining tour dates, which had been scheduled until September. The lead singer Steven Tyler suffered a head and shoulder injury after a fall off stage. The band was performing in South Dakota when the singer, dancing on stage, tumbled off the side.
According to Rolling Stone Tyler said, "I was doing the Tyler shuffle and then I zigged when I should have zagged
AND I slipped, and as I live on the edge
I fell off the edge!" Tyler's accident was "the straw that broke the horses back" as a few of the other band mates had also endured their share of injuries.
In a statement released to MTV guitarist Joe Perry said ""I would like to thank our loyal fans for sticking by us through thick and thin and [for] all the good energy they are sending our way." The band did not expect the tour to end so soon, but Tyler has been advised by his personal doctor to take it easy for a while.
