Aerosmith's Canadian Concert Canceled
Aerosmith has canceled its Winnipeg, Manitoba show because of band member Steven Tyler's injuries sustained at a concert Wednesday in South Dakota. There is no word yet on whether the reminder of the group's tour will be canceled.
Tyler, 61, suffered a broken shoulder and injuries to his head and back, Billie Perry, wife of Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, tweeted. He is now back home in Boston recovering and is reportedly "very sore."
The Aerosmith front man was performing at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Show near Rapid City, S.D. when the sound system went out. He proceeded to dance to entertain the crowd but then fell backward onto some fans while on the catwalk, Mike Sanborn, spokesman for the Buffalo Chip Campground where the event was held, according to BBC News. Though in pain, Tyler was reportedly joking as he was being airlifted to the hospital.
Tyler had to postpone several shows earlier this summer due to another injury sustained at a concert.
