Ailing Tammy Faye Appears on Larry King

Former television evangelist Tammy Faye made an appearance on Larry King's CNN show Thursday night. Her physical appearance was shocking for those who remember her before the cancer took hold. Faye is battling an inoperable cancer that is slowly ravaging her body. She told King that the only things she is able to keep down these days are chicken soup and rice pudding. At a mere 65 pounds, Faye is skeletal and breathless. But her chat with Larry King was determinedly upbeat nonetheless. She told the host that she speaks with God every single day, saying to him, "God, my life is in your hands." She also issued a message of love to her supporters, telling them that she hopes to see them when they reach heaven's gates.

Faye's diagnosis came in 1996. She was told that she had colon cancer, which by 2004 had spread to her lungs. At this point, Faye announced, the doctors ceased treatment.
