Al Gore to win Nobel Peace Prize?

Tomorrow, former Vice President Al Gore will find out if he's the winner of this year's Nobel Peace Prize.

Although the Norwegian Nobel Committee keeps the names of its award nominees secret, reports have circulated that former Vice President Al Gore is up for the Nobel Peace Prize. His documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth," which aimed to educate the public about the severity of global warming, captured two Academy Awards in 2006. His co-created television show, "Current T.V." also recently received fame when it won an Emmy Award last month. Tomorrow, he will find out if "Nobel Peace Prize winner" will be added to his distinction.

Previous American recipients of this honored award include Woodrow Wilson, Martin Luther King Jr. and Jimmy Carter. The possibility that the former vice president might get the prize has brought hope to supporters of Gore that he might run again for president. On Wednesday, the website Draft Gore paid $65,000 for a full-page open letter to Gore in the New York Times in an effort to draft him into the Democratic presidential primaries. Supporters continue to be optimistic that Gore will enter as a late candidate into the 2008 race.
