Morissette now has dual citizenship in U.S., Canada

Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette became an American citizen last week in a Los Angeles ceremony, making her a dual citizen of both Canada and the United States. The ceremony included 4,500 people all taking the oath of citizenship at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Morissette claimed, "There was a turning point during the ceremony where I felt connected to this country in a way that I didn't quite expect. America has been really great to me, and I have felt welcomed since the day I came here."BR>
Later, at a Los Angeles area concert, she included a rendition of "The National Anthem" in her set. Morissette became a household name in America upon the release of her 1997 album 'Jagged Little Pill.'
