Alec Baldwin Has Harsh Words for NBC and Scientologists

Alec Baldwin came out swinging during a recent interview about his NBC sitcom, 30 Rock. According to the San Francisco Gate, the actor criticized the station for promoting My Name Is Earl and Scrubs while leaving 30 Rock in the dust.

"NBC hasn't done a thing to help this show. They've gone out of their way to wring the last drops out of 'My Name is Earl' and 'Scrubs.' Those shows are done! They're cooked! Yet they do a one-hour episode of 'Earl,'" the bitter actor said.

Baldwin's comments didn't go unnoticed. Greg Garcia, creator of My Name Is Earl, shot back to gossip column Page Six of the New York Post, telling Baldwin, "It's called math, stupid."

"[Baldwin] sounds like a psychotic narcissist. Instead of blaming NBC, I think Alec should consider that some people in America may not want to watch a man who cusses out his own 11-year-old daughter on a phone message. Oh, and the reason NBC occasionally puts on an hour-long episode of 'Earl' is because an hour of 'Earl' gets better ratings than an 'Earl' followed by a '30 Rock.' It's called math, stupid," Garcia said.

Garcia was referring to a phone message Baldwin left his daughter in 2007 that was leaked to the media. Baldwin called his daughter, Ireland, a "thoughtless little pig."

In a column Baldwin writes for the Huffington Post, he apologized to the cast members of Scrubs and My Name Is Earl, admitting that he was angry with the station and not the shows. But Baldwin still had harsh words for Garcia.

"But for 'Earl's' creator, Greg Garcia, who referred to me as 'psychotic,' I only have one question. Why are you Scientologists always rendering these medical opinions you aren't qualified to give?" Baldwin said as a P.S. at the end of his column.

No word as of yet from Garcia or NBC on the recent verbal attacks.
