Alice in Chains to Record First Album in 13 Years

The band can currently be heard on Rock Band 2, with their song, "Man in a Box."

Alice in Chains will record their first album in 13 years with a new singer, after the band's frontman, Layne Staley, suffered a fatal drug overdose in 2002.

The new singer will be William DuVall, with whom the band will go into the recording studio in the fall.

On the band's Web site, Alice in Chains associate Baldy said, "October will arrive and Alice in Chains will reconvene to record the new album."

"So, as 2008 winds down, band activity will be gearing up, and at some point in 2009 you'll finally hear what I've been raving about for the last several months."

The most recent Alice in Chains record was self-titled and released way back in 1995.
