Alice in Wonderland Game in the Works

Video games based on Tim Burton's reworking of the classic tale may be released within the year.

Tim Burton's version of "Alice in Wonderland" will come to smaller screens, in the form of a video game.

According to NeoSeeker.com, French developer Etranges Livellules will launch mobile game editions of the movie later this year while Wii, DS, and PC versions will be available at the time of the theatrical release in early 2010. The game will be published by Disney Interactive Studios.

The movie will follow Alice years after the events in Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass" as she finds herself in Wonderland, called Underland in the film, once again.

The game will pick up the story where Alice, along with familiar friends from Underland like the Mad Hatter, March Hare, Cheshire Cat and White Rabbit, has to defeat the Red Queen and the Jabberwocky. As Alice, the player will evade traps and solve puzzles with help from each of the characters.

The trailer for Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" was recently released to the Internet on IGN but was ordered down by Disney soon after. It will star Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Mia Wasikowska as Alice.
