Alicia Keys Tweets about Becoming a Mom

Alicia Keys gave birth to her first child, Egypt Daoud Dean, on Thursday, October 14 in New York City. Three days later, she told the world how blissful she is about being a new mom. She tweeted, "There is no word to properly describe LOVE, to describe BLISS, to a express a FEELING like this!!!" she added, "Thank U 4 your love, support and prayers!"

Keys and her husband of three months, music producer Swizz Beatz, real name Kasseem Dean, announced the pregnancy in May and they tied the knot July 31 in a private Mediterranean ceremony.

Though this is Keys’ first child, this is Beatz’ fourth. He has two sons and a daughter from previous relationships. At the birth of his son, Egypt, the proud dad tweeted, "I'm so thankful for everything I been blessed with in my life wowwwwww!"

Before she gave birth, Keys told Us Weekly she was eager to meet her new little one, saying, "The baby is going to see everything that I do, and that we do."
