Alicia Witt To Attend a Hallmark Channel 'Wedding'
Actress Alicia Witt will play the lead role in a Hallmark Channel movie tentatively titled "Backyard Wedding."
According to an article on HollywoodReporter.com, "The film centers on Kim Tyler (Witt), who is all set to have the wedding of her dreams in her parents' backyard, but her ex-husband and first love -- whose parents happen to live next door -- keeps popping up."
Witt's supporting cast includes "Night Court" alum Markie Post as Kim's Aunt Addie and "Titanic" actress Francis Fisher as Kim's mother, Eleanor.
The HollywoodReporter.com article goes on to name others who will behind-the-scenes of the TV movie, "Bradford May will direct the movie from a script by Nina Weinman. Larry Levinson is executive producing, with Randy Pope and Amanda Phillips serving as co-executive producers and James Wilberger and Brian J. Gordon as producers."
Witt's past credits include being featured on several episodes of NBC's "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," starring opposite Al Pacino in the 2007 thriller "88 Minutes," playing the lead character in the 2007 Lifetime Television movie adaptation of the Nora Roberts 1995 novel "Blue Smoke," playing the lead role in the 1998 horror flick "Urban Legend," playing Cybill Shepherd's daughter, Zoey, on the CBS comedy "Cybill," which aired from 1995 to 1998 and starring in the 2006 Queen Latifah/LL Cool J/Timothy Hutton/Gérard Depardieu comedy "Last Holiday."
Recently, Witt has played the recurring role of Cheryl, the landlord of Canadian actor Taylor Kitsch's character, Tim Riggins, on the hit DirecTV/NBC sports drama "Friday Night Lights."
