Allen Iverson Traded to Detroit

Sources close to Allen Iverson - also known as Stephen A. Smith - are reporting that the All-Pro guard is telling people he will soon be traded to the Detroit Pistons for Chauncey Billups.

Iverson makes $20 million this year - the last year of his contract - and Billups only makes $10 million. And because the Nuggets have been in serious luxury cap jail over the past couple years (the Marcus Camby-to-the-Clippers being the best example), trading Iverson seemed to be a necessary move.

The deal, at this time, is not final, so things could fall apart. The deal can't be completed unless the Pistons send more players to Denver, which is why Antonio McDyess will also be sent to Denver.

Billups is originally from Denver, and has said that he wouldn't mind coming home to finish his career.
