Allen Suing American Apparel

Woody Allen is suing American Apparel for using his picture in their ads.

Woody Allen is suing American Apparel for using a picture of him in their ads. Reuters reported that Allen is suing the T-shirt company for using a picture of him, from one of his films, on billboards in New York and California. In the picture, Allen is dressed as a Hasidic Jew and the ads refer to him as a rabbi.

Allen insists that the company did not get his permission to use the picture and the company did not compensate him. He is suing them for more than $10 million in damages. The lawsuit states, "Allen does not engage in the commercial endorsement of products or services in the United States." He most likely does do ads overseas like most actors and actresses do.

American Apparel has not made a statement about the lawsuit.
