Ever since she arrived on the scene as Karen Smith, the airheaded sidekick to Rachel McAdams’s Regina George in 2004’s Mean Girls, Amanda Seyfried has quickly become one of the most sought after young talents in Hollywood. Following Mean Girls, she landeded the recurring role on the HBO hit Big Love and continues to deliver solid performances to this day. She recently starred alongside Megan Fox in Jennifer’s Body and became a true box office star with the Nicholas Sparks romance Dear John.
Unlike any of the roles she’s played thus far, Seyfried will take on the role of a scheming prostitute in Atom Egoyan’s Chloe. Macleans.ca reports on Seyfried’s new film and how she garnered the coveted role in Egoyan’s new film.
Co-starring Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson, the film chronicles the story of a woman’s attempt to discover if her husband is being unfaithful. Moore’s character hires Seyfried’s Chloe to seduce her husband (Neeson) in order to unveil the truth of whether or not he’s cheating. This eventually leads to an affair between the two women that ultimately results in the title character’s fixation with her and her family.
Early word is that Seyfried handles the dynamic role brilliantly and seamlessly portrays the wide range of emotions and personalities required for the character.
