'The Amazing Race' Recap: 'I Never Looked So Foolish in My Whole Entire Life (Outback)'

[The Amazing Race - Season 18 Episode 2]

Jet was still working on the clue for the roadblock because they couldn't figure out the password. Tenth place team Kent & Vyxsin and all of the other teams started to head back to the main area of Sydney as they searched for town hall where they would find a clue involving the phrase "To Sail, To Stop" and sign up for flight information.

We got some more background information of each of the teams. Amanda & Kris worried about being u-turned again. Each group had their doubts and worries. Zev's Asperger’s/Taxi door opening skills may be an issue during the race. Jet continuously abused the phrase, "Son of a buck," as he stressed out. The Globetrotters are good friends and joke around about their differences, further emphasizing the strong relationship. Luke joked around about how he now has race girlfriends (Jamie & Cara), which made me wonder if he ever actually had a girlfriend (or boyfriend). Ron & Christina bicker about ferries and we flashbacked to previous problems, Ron knows of his impatience but blamed it on sleep deprivation.

Jet & Cord finally solved the flag puzzle and headed to the skiffs. Around the same time, Gary & Mallory taxi jump in confusion since none of the drivers knew the "To Sail, To Stop" clue. Amanda & Kris decide to wander around as well. Kisha & Jen end up at a museum (which their taxi driver was convinced was right) but find a computer to find. Zev & Justin must have had a similar driver and the two joined forces as Google found an anchor at town hall.

Back at the beach, Mel was tired, but Mike was heavily concerned about his health. Soon, Mel's leg started to give out. Several teams were on the ferry as Mel buckled in pain. Margie & Luke watched in concern. Jet & Cord had trouble with their ships and got wet, but didn't flip over like Jamie & Cara last week. Margie & Luke found out via Google to go to town hall, and told Jamie & Cara, though they didn't tell Mel & Mike.

Kisha & Jen and Zev & Justin were the first two at the anchor a bit surprised about their placements. Margie kissed Mike as they got off the ferry. Apparently, Ron & Christina, The Globetrotters, and Kent & Vyxsin were all also on the ferry and departed as well. Several teams got the correct information without much time wasted.

Jet & Cord finally got their clue off the floating buoy as Jamie & Cara and Margie & Luke signed up for flight one. Gary & Mallory finally got confused as they bumped into Ron & Christina and Amanda & Kris. Being really smart, Gary & Mallory knew that as long as they piggybacked Amanda & Kris, they could overtake them during the first Detour. Eventually, a local directed them to town hall, but Mel & Mike and Kent & Vyxsin got there before them.

Jet & Cord finally checked in and got their clue. Flight Time & Big Easy were the first on the second flight. The group of lost competitors finally got to the sign-up sheet. The cowboys asked every local about "To Sail to Stop" and didn't get any information.

The first set of fliers all worked on getting their tickets in as Jet & Cord wandered Sydney as the sun set. They eventually got a taxi that knew City Town Hall. They signed up for the last flight and headed to the airport.

The morning arrived and Kisha wanted to make sure that Mel was doing well; he was definitely in better spirits. Season 14 did a good job betting on the first flight. Amanda & Kris were nervous about their U-Turned detour. The first flight arrived and headed to the "The Living Desert."

Jamie & Cara and Margie & Luke paired up as Zev and Kisha both knew where to go. Mel & Mike on the other hand decided to piggyback. Jamie & Cara, Luke & Margie, and Kent & Vyxsin got directions from a gas station as the second flight arrived. Surprisingly, Mallory had a map and knew exactly where to go. Ron & Christina were last out as they almost got slammed by a truck.

Zev & Justin arrived at the clue for the Detour which was "Spirit World" where the teams had to create a mosaic and perform a dance on top of the mosaic. "Natural World" forced teams to create territory markers with paint that you spit at stencils (which included your hands). Zev & Justin picked spirit. Kisha & Jen follow with Mel & Mike quickly behind.

All the teams slowly arrive and pick Spirit. Kent smartly grabbed the stones as Vyxsin started designing. Mallory was all smiles as she dragged her rocks in her shirt. Mel got a cramp in his leg but continued on.

All 11 teams were scrambling as Big Easy had a great time with the locals. Kisha & Jen were first done, but were missing some rocks. Kent & Vyxsin finished their puzzle but struggled as Kent screamed, "I need to get me some children." Margie & Luke and Zev & Justin finished and fake danced on top of their mosaic and got their clues. Kent & Vyxsin got confused as their judge kept saying no. Mel & Mike kind of danced as they got the clue. Soon Kent & Vyxsin got on top of their mosaic as Kisha & Jen got their clue as well.

Amanda & Kris made up some time as Ron screamed at Christina, returning to his angry dad ways. They eventually turned to bickering in Chinese just so other teams wouldn't understand them.

Zev & Justin succeeded getting correct directions as they headed to the Central Football club. Jet & Cord, Gary & Mallory, Flight Time & Big Easy all danced on their mosaics and headed on their way. Ron & Christina missed something on their puzzle as Kris & Amanda finished. Ron & Christina decided to stop and look at the demo picture.

Kris & Amanda figured out the paint detour as Ron & Christina figured out what their puzzle issues were. They bickered as Ron complained about dancing on something they just created. Ron's items from his jacket were sprawled on the ground and Christina had to recover them. As Kris & Amanda left, Ron & Christina followed.

Zev & Justin arrived at the Football club and the clue pointed out a "Roo'd awakening." The contestants had to remember high school chemistry dressed as kangaroos. They were given a chart with the periodic table of elements with Hg and Bi colored in. The teams had to realize their next clue was at the intersection of Mercury and Bismuth. Zev & Justin got changed into their kangaroo outfits as Margie & Luke arrived.

Kent & Vyxsin were the third team as Margie wiped out from the bouncing shoes. Mel & Mike got changed as Margie figured out what to do with the puzzle as Jamie & Cara passed them. Jet & Cord were still confused and hoped that Cord's Discovery Channel watching would help. Flight Time & Big Easy saw the table and got confused. Margie & Luke and Zev & Justin got a Google searcher friend as she not only got them the correct elements but the correct directions. Kisha & Jen walked into the men's locker room trying to find their costumes.

Kisha & Jen and Jamie & Cara got changed as Gary & Mallory arrived. Jamie & Cara met Kent & Vyxsin and Kent was one of two contestants that knew the clue, shocking Jamie & Cara for some reason. Eventually, Mel & Mike, the Globetrotters, and The Cowboys followed blindly. Ron & Christina arrived before Amanda & Kris and they were changed and left. Margie lost a part of her outfit, but Luke didn't want her to go back. They eventually circled back giving Zev & Justin the time to get the clue to the pitstop: Junction Mine.

The clue pointed out that shoes were the only things that they could change. Zev & Justin got directions and headed out. Mel being the nice father grabbed Margie's lost foot piece and continued with the crowd. Margie finally found Mel and helped Mel & Mike with the directions.

Zev & Justin arrived in first place and won a trip to Cancun, Mexico. Phil gave them a quick passport joke. The next horde of teams found the correct street intersection including Flight Time & Big Easy, Kisha & Jen, Jamie & Cara, Margie & Luke, Kent & Vyxsin, and Mel & Mike.

Flight Time & Big Easy arrived in second place while Ron & Christina and Gary & Mallory were lost and decided to work together to find the intersection. Ron decided to bicker as Mallory went and followed the path of the other contestants. Kisha & Jen and Jet & Cord raced for third place. In a waddling finish Jet & Cord finished third. Amanda & Kris finally got directions as Christina explained to Gary & Mallory about the Mercury/Bismuth clue. Ron called Mallory's voice annoying.

Gary & Mallory and Ron & Christina eventually got to the clues and both headed towards the pitstop. Though Mallory was convinced she knew where to go, Ron doubted Mallory's direction skills. Ron, disliking Mallory's impulsive style, decided to turn and leave Gary & Mallory.

Amanda & Kris do a drive by direction asking as Ron & Christina got lost. Gary & Mallory squeal their way to ninth place leaving two teams. Christina got directions from a gas station and rush to the pitstop. As they arrived, Ron accidentally called Phil "Bill." Ron explained that in the heat of the moment he got upset. Amanda & Kris arrived last and were both eliminated. Kris accepted that it was their fault this time.
