'The Amazing Race' - "You Don't Get Paid Unless You Win (Varanasi, India)"

['The Amazing Race' – Season 18 Episode 7]

Kolkata, India. After being in first place last leg, Gary & Mallory had a special meal and a personal performance sponsored by Snapple. They quipped that they would love to be the first parent/child team to win. They were given a clue explaining that they would have to fly to Varanasi to find a Tonga stand. Zev complained that there were too many crowds and was a bit upset that they had to stay in India.

Kent & Vyxsin decided to head to a travel agency in hopes that they would help get an early flight. At the airport Gary & Mallory got a 10:45 AM flight from Kingfisher airlines. They were followed by Ron & Christina, Zev & Justin, and Kisha & Jen. Kent & Vyxsin got the same exact flight via the travel agent. Jet & Cord asked a Jet Airways agent and they reassured the team that the 11:45AM flight was the earliest.

Ron & Christina decided to go get food with their extra time before Flight Time & Big Easy even left the pitstop. Gary & Mallory did some internet research and Mallory hoped to wash in the holy water. Eventually, Flight Time & Big Easy got the same 10:45AM flight that the bulk of the teams got on.

The teams didn't see where the cowboys were and they wondered if they departed earlier or later. Jet & Cord took a look at the flights and realized they would be an hour behind the rest of the teams. They flashed back to their season where they forgot the bottle for their clue and hoped they would never have a bad leg like that.

The rest of the teams arrived at Varanasi and headed to the Tonga with varying taxi driver experiences. Kent got slammed in the head by their driver. Zev & Justin had to stop for gas, Ron & Christina got rerouted by the police, and Kent & Vyxsin had enough time to become amazed by the scenery. Flight Time & Big Easy overtook Kisha & Jen and Gary & Mallory as they headed out. Kent & Vyxsin arrived first to the Roadblock that clued the teams to, "Search for the meaning of life."

They had to find six Sadhus who would give a puzzle for them to unscramble. The correct answer to the puzzle was "Once you're over the hill you pick up speed” Kent headed out as the teams got to the roadblock when Jet & Cord's plane arrived. Kent found one man, but he was the person that you provided the answer to. Big Easy and Jen decided to work together to get their clue, but Jen decided to split up after they received their second clue. Ron was unsuccessful and headed in the wrong direction as Justin found a sadhu. Kent decided to work with Gary as the Cowboys inched closer. Ron finally found a clue and wandered around slowly.

While waiting for Justin to finish, Zev couldn't handle the deafening sounds because of his sensitive ears. Luckily for him Mallory gave him a pair of ear plugs and things weren't as bad. Jen finished the roadblock as Justin and Big Easy got their final puzzle piece. Kisha & Jen headed to Tulsi Ghat to find the strong man and the next clue. Zev & Justin and Flight Time & Big Easy headed out as the Cowboys showed up leaving the three girls to worry about their partners. Cord started running as he got clues quickly. Ron wandered confused as Kent and Gary got their final clues. Kent bolted and left Gary behind. As Kent showed up, Mallory was worried if Kent actually helped her father; he reassured her that Gary was "right behind" him.

Zev & Justin and Flight Time & Big Easy got to the clue that provided their detour. The choices were Feed the Fire [make 50 fuel patties out of manure, then start a fire in a small stove] or Feed the Buffalo [Cross the Ganges to get hay and head to the address provided] Both teams chose to feed the buffalo. Kisha & Jen decided to Feed the Fire. Zev & Justin found the hay and the two teams grabbed two bunches of hay. Jet & Cord finished their roadblock before Ron arrived. Ron was nowhere near completed. He couldn't figure out where to find the sadhus. He eventually found his second clue.

Flight Time & Big Easy and Zev & Justin started running with their hay as Kisha & Jen dealt with manure. They decided to put gloves on but it couldn't cover up the disgusting smell. Kent & Vyxsin headed to feed the fire and they were followed by Gary & Mallory. They passed by a cremation and it moved Mallory. She loved experiencing new things and thought even different areas of India were so vast.

Ron finally finished the roadblock and headed out. Zev & Justin headed to their address with their hay but passed by a herd of buffalo that ate some of their hay. Kisha & Jen start to bicker with the manure and Kisha was upset with Jen's fuel forming skills.

Zev & Justin got a clue to head to Ramnagar Fort via a photo; they were quickly followed by Flight Time & Big Easy. Jet & Cord decided to go with the hay detour. Kisha & Jen finished 50 cakes, but the judge removed several of them because of their size issues. They quickly recovered and built the stove; they received their clue and left before Kent & Vyxsin arrived. Soon afterward, Gary & Mallory arrived. Mallory flashed back to manure in Russia and pointed out that she was wearing the same outfit both times.

There was a mad run for first but Flight Time & Big Easy made it first and won a trip to Hawaii. They were followed by Zev & Justin. The cowboys ran and got their piles of hay as Ron & Christina chose to feed the buffalo as well. Kent & Vyxsin had to fix one pie and headed out. Gary & Mallory had to fix a handful but were efficient. Jet & Cord ran as they passed the herd of buffalo that Zev & Justin passed by earlier.

Kent & Vyxsin got directions to head to the fort via a boat but their boat taxi barely moved. Vyxsin was convinced that the boat was a wrong choice and jumped out, which upset Kent. After bickering, Kent followed Vyxsin out of the boat.

Jet & Cord got their clue and they were followed by Ron & Christina. As other teams arrived Kent & Vyxsin struggled to find a taxi. Jet & Cord were in fifth place. Ron & Christina decided to take the water taxi as Kent & Vyxsin finally found a normal taxi. Kent & Vyxsin hoped that they weren't last as Ron & Christina departed from the boats. Kent & Vyxsin were in sixth, but Ron & Christina were last and were eliminated.
