Mother Monster's album dropping today, and the fact that it's being sold for only 99 cents at Amazon.com, seemed to excite fans a little too much this morning.
Billboard.com says that the album was Amazon’s top seller as of 9 a.m., which isn’t too surprising for a promotion as exciting as an album being sold for 99 cents in comparison to iTunes' offer at $11.99.
But all morning, reviewers have been complaining that the server is working slowly or that they haven’t received all 14 songs. With 89 one-star reviews, Gaga’s Monsters apparently aren’t happy with Amazon’s performance.
“I don't even like Lady Gaga but 99 cents for a whole album, why not? Guess what.. got one song! Waited a couple hours, kept reloading Cloud Player.. still only one song. Sounds more like a scam to me,” said an unhappy, one-star reviewer.
As a result of these technical difficulties, the album’s ranking sank to three stars, saysHypeBot.com.
In response to the flood of complaints, Amazon tweeted, “We're currently experiencing very high volume. If you order today, you will get the full @ladygaga album for $.99. Thanks for your patience.”
