Amber Portwood of ‘Teen Mom’ spends second Christmas in jail

Twenty-one year old Amber Portwood will be ditching the tradition holiday red and green for an orange jumpsuit this Christmas – and it’s not her first time either.

The troubled Teen Mom star was arrested December 16 on battery and possession of a controlled substance charges, reports Radar Online. Portwood has also “failed to submit to drug tests, has not completed her GED as ordered by the court, and has not undertaken anger management classes or deposited $10,000 into a college fund for her daughter, Leah.”

Amber’s brother Shawn Portwood revealed to E! News that this isn’t that first time she missed the family-filled holiday. Last year, Indiana police arrested her on domestic battery and neglect charges. "It's really sad because this will be her second Christmas in jail," he shared. "We were really looking forward to seeing her because we didn't see her last year because she was in jail, and now that's not going to happen."

Portwood will miss ringing in the New Year as well, as she is scheduled to remain in jail until January 27.

In the meantime, her ex-boyfriend Gary Shirley remains in custody of their 3-year-old daughter, Leah.
