Jay and Silent Bob’s Kevin Smith is delving back into his roots of “geekry” as AMC will air their newest reality show Comic Book Men.

Comic Book Men, new kind of reality show which centers around the comic book store Smith owns in New Jersey, is Smith’s first appearance back on TV since Clerks. The funnyman expresses his delight, and fear, to TV Guide Magazine.

Smith notes the irony in that when Clerks was first scheduled to air, the network ordered six episodes and only two were actually shown. Now, AMC has ordered six episodes of the reality show. Smith’s reaction to the irony? “I'm, like, ‘We're cursed! We're dead!" [Laughs] I felt like I was in Battlestar Galactica: What happened before will happen again!"

Smith may catch a break as even the idea of this show being created already has fans abuzz. The USA Today is calling the show, “A slice of nerd life not often seen on TV.”

Still not confident, Smith does admit that he is looking forward the show working out for one reason. "I don't know how it'll play for the rest of the world, but for me this is the dream program, because I get to literally watch my friends on TV every week."

Comic Book Men will air on AMC, Sunday after The Walking Dead. Smith notes that this is a “dream” time slot, as Dead lovers are his target audience.
