American Idol Alumni Gearing Up for Live Tour

Kris Allen, the winner of this past season of "American Idol," prepares his upcoming album, but runner-up Adam Lambert does not fall behind.

Kris Allen has hooked up with a series of artists to start composing his new album and preparing for the American Idol Live Tour. On the other end of the spectrum, Adam Lambert is also preparing to debut with his album being produced by RedOne.

Allen has been working with several collaborators. According to MTV.com, Salaam Remi, a one-time collaborator with Leona Lewis, former Evanescence member David Hodges, and Fray's guitarist and songwriter Joe King have all lined up to work with Allen in his upcoming album. This past season of "Idol" was a huge upset for fans who were pulling for Lambert but were disappointed as Allen took the top spot in the competition. At the time of the interview, King reported that he was laying the tracks in the studio and preparing Allen's unveiling album.

This past Friday on perezhilton.com, as reported by NYdailynews.com, Lambert's pre-"Idol" single, "Want," was released. Fans of the vocalist want, pun intended, the single in his upcoming album. However, Lambert admits, "The work I did back then in no way reflects the music I am currently in the studio working on." His album is set to debut sometime this fall, fans will have to wait and see whether or not the song will make it to the record.

As a release for the album of season 8 of "Idol," both of the vocalists are featured with their own version of "No Boundaries." The disc also includes one other, different song for both of them, as reported by EW.com.
