Paranormal Activity: American Idol edition?

The top 11 on American Idol have been given a taste of the good life as they compete to be the next singing superstar. But the contestants have felt spooked lately, claiming that the Idol mansion they had been living in was haunted.

The contestants, who are currently residing in a hotel because of leaks and bug infestations inside the house, say there is a spirit occupying their Beverly Hills mansion.

Lauren Alaina told E! Online, "Me and Pia [Toscano] were upstairs and the doors flew open. We were watching a scary movie before that and we were [already] freaked out. Me and Pia decided we were going to sleep downstairs, and James [Durbin] was making fun of us. [Then] he opens the garage door and supposedly sees a hand fall down."

Durbin clarified that he was attempting to play a trick on the girls and ended up having his own paranormal experience.

"I opened the door to the garage, I was trying to freak out Pia, and it freaked me out," James told us. "I saw something white that looked like an arm."

Naima Adedapo, a skeptic who thought logically at the happenings inside the house, had her own experience.

"it was a little disturbing for it to be 2:30 in the morning and the doors blow open and there's breeze and wind," she said. "I picked up this huge chair and put it in front of the door and it still blew open so it was best to leave the house.”

TMZ reports that the Travel Channel’s Ghost Adventures team would like to investigate the Beverly Hills mansion, suggesting there could be demon activity.

Whether it is ghostly behavior or just coincidences and a few faulty pipes, the contestants are calling a hotel their temporary home until the house is livable again.
