American Idol Judge may be M.I.A. for Season 9
Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul are well known for being the three judges on Fox's hit show, "American Idol." Each of them has a distinctive personality that they bring to the show. Many can't picture "American Idol" without them.
This season they might have to. Cowell and Jackson have already made deals to return to the show but Abdul has yet to make any deal.
"Very sadly, it does not appear that she's going to be back on Idol," Abdul's manager shared via Us Magazine.
The new season of the show is set to premiere in January and no one has contacted Abdul about it, according to her manager.
Although Abdul's manager, David Sonenberg, has only been managing her since June, he is on top of things. Sonenberg apparently told the network that she would "love to be on the show," but has not heard any response.
"She's not a happy camper as a result of what's going on. She's hurt. She's angry," Sonenberg said about Abdul.
"I think at this point we're going to be considering everything, including some kind of a competition show. She has tremendous ideas for a whole variety of shows."
This week, many of the other stars of "American Idol" inked deals. Ryan Seacrest signed a three year $45 million deal to host the show. Randy Jackson also signed to stay on the show through 2011. New judge Kara DioGuardi has some interest in returning to the show.
Simon Cowell's contract doesn't end until after the next season so he will most likely be on the show. But after that it remains a mystery.
How popular would "American Idol" be without Abdul? Lets hope the world never has to find out.
