American Idol Star's Myspace Account Is Hacked by Stalker
Diana DeGarmo's stalker is denied bail by a judge in her home country of Australia.
The Melbourne Herald Sun reported that the 23-year-old Tanye Maree Quattrocchi was convicted of blackmailing and stalking DeGarmo in May 2007, and was sentenced to serve community service. However, she was arrested three months ago after hacking into DeGarmo's Myspace account over 700 times from May 2008 until January of this year.
Quattrocchi's mother had pleaded with the judge that she would quit her job and place her daughter under virtual house arrest by not allowing her to use the Internet, and follow the terms of her probation, according to E! Online.
The judge determined that Quattrocchi would continue to harass the 21-year-old singer and her family. Quattrocchi will remain in jail until her next hearing on May 11.
DeGarmo was runner-up to Fantasia Barrino on the third season of American Idol.
