American Idol Unveils Guest List

List is revealed, Jackson, McCartney not on it

American Idol has unveiled this season's list of guest stars. While the list included pop stars such as Gwen Stefani and J. Lo., others were conspicuously absent.

Although pop superstar, Michael Jackson, denied any truth to the rumors that he would be appearing on the number one show in the nation, there was still speculation that he would. However, Jackson is indeed not scheduled, nor is former Beatle, Paul McCartney, though the show's Simon Fuller has reportedly asked about doing a Beatles-themed night.

Others who will be seen this season include: Jon Bon Jovi, Martina McBride, Diana Ross, Tony Bennett, Barry Gibb, and 60s stars Lulu and Peter Noone.

Past performers who have graced the Idol stage are numerous and varied, including such stars as Shakira, Barry Manilow, and Rod Stewart. By far, the most memorable guest appearance has been by Prince, who performed in last season's finale. His performance impressed even the show's biggest critics.
