America's Got Talent brings in viewers for NBC
Talent show a hit for 18-49 viewers
Regis Philbin and "America's Got Talent" are bringing in the viewers for NBC, a huge relief to the struggling network.
More than 12 million people tuned in, and the show led its time slot for the 18 to 49 viewer group, according to the Nielson group. It was NBC's best showing in the Wednesday 9 to 11 time slot since April 2005. The 18 to 49 viewership was 84 percent more than NBC had at the same time last year.
"America's Got Talent" is the brain-child of "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell. However, anyone can compete on this talent show for the $1 million prize.
