America's Got Talent: Week 8, Part 2
America's Got Talent aired the second results show for the top 48, where 5 of the 12 acts from Tuesday night moved on to the semifinals on Wednesday.
The show played a quick recap of the performances, highlighting judge Piers Morgan's frequent hitting of the buzzer on contestants. After the recap, Morgan and judge David Hasselhoff said Tuesday night's performances were not as dynamic as they expected.
Fab Five and Bale Street Flippers were first to face the votes. Between the two dance groups, Fab Five was the only one to move on.
The group Voices of Glory was next to move on, sending Carol Lou and Eleisha Miller home. Miller hugged the sibling singing trio, saying she promised her parents that she would make friends on the show. The Texas Tenors also made the top 20, but Barack Obama impersonator Pete Peterkin did not make it.
SQ Entertainment and Alizma went home, putting Paradizo Dance through to the semifinals. Hasselhoff said the couple deserved to be on the show.
The final two acts to arrive on stage placed fifth and sixth, leaving the decision in the judges' hands. The votes were not unanimous: Morgan voted for Charles DeWayne while Hasselhoff picked Tony Hoard and his dog Rory. Sharon Osbourne, the other judge, broke the tie by choosing Hoard.
Hip-hop group LMFAO performed their hit single, "I'm in Miami Trick." Magicians Penn and Teller also made an appearance and performed a jaw dropping trick that involved sawing a woman in half but with a twist.
The third set of contestants will vie for the next five slots by performing for America's votes on Tuesday.
