[America’s Next Top Model – Season 15 Episode 10]
Like the opening to every episode, we start with Chris. Since she was on the bottom two last week; she wanted to work harder but secretly hoped for a double elimination. Kayla didn't see the dedication in Chris. Jane was still worried about taking the risk of becoming a model from her Ivy League background. I think we now know who our bottom two will be.
A Tyra Mail used the term "impression" and the girls knew it automatically they were going to go-sees. Chelsey is confident about go-sees since she's been to so many before. The girls rearrange their photobooks, a first time we ever saw the models adjusting their photos. The girls arrive at IMG and Tyra explains how the girls should structure their photos. Tyra explains that the designers in Italy are looking for an edge. Tyra gave the girls tips about their books including how models should face the gatefold. She also wanted to make sure the girls understood what exactly the modeling agencies looked for. Two directors of IMG explain that there are four go-sees, including two photography agents, and Versace. The directors give a limitation of public transportation versus previous seasons of a taxi driver taking them around.
Chris and Jane team up and head to Versace. Similarly, Jane and Chelsey team up and Ann blindly followed the two. Jane and Chris magically find Versace first and Chris was shocked how the directors were blunt, but she was the only one that attempted to talk to them. Jane, Chelsey, and Ann couldn't find Versace, even with Chelsey constantly talking about going to millions of go-sees.
At Versace Chelsey, Kayla, and Ann had to wait while Chris and Jane got negative feedback about their walk; Chris's walk was compared to an 80s model. Kayla gets positive feedback about being an editorial model, but not a fashion show model. Chelsey decided to go on her own and headed out without Kayla and Ann. Jane and Chris considered going back to IMG after one shot, but after staring at the metro, they decided to. Kayla looped around the subway and went back to Versace. Chelsey made it to Global Casting with Demilo.
Chris pops her foot while walking, but with Jane the two made it back to IMG. Ann stressed out and was totally flustered. To make it worse, the humidity made her hair poof uncontrollably. With four minutes to go Chelsey made it back. By 6:50, already late, Ann made it back. Kayla made it back by 7:15. Unlike previous seasons where the losers were forced to wait outside, Kayla and Ann got critiques with the rest of the girls. All of the girls got reprimanded for only seeing so few clients. The girls should get credit for heading to who they thought were the most important first. Chelsey probably got the automatic win just because she saw two clients; one more than everyone else. She arrived back to the apartment with a Versace jacket.
The girls get a Tyra Mail exclaiming the girls would look "marbleous." The next day the girls arrive at a mansion by Lake Como. Chris explained that she hurt her ankle. Nigel is their photographer and explains the girls are statues coming to life by a male model sculptor. Kayla continues to warm up to male models. Ann loved the concept of the photo.
Jane was first and though she thought that looking stiff was an advantage, it wasn't. Jay stopped Jane and told her that she needed more emotion. Soon afterwards, Nigel had to stop her and give commands. Jay tried to critique her and she started to cry, he told her to keep trying. Chelsey was worried about how she didn't stand out last week and she also needed to show personality. She felt sexy and Nigel loved it all the way through the shoot. Ann got some very creative poses and her knowledge of sculpture helped and didn't get any negative feedback. Kayla understood that she had to interact with male models on a professional level so she knew that she would have to succeed. She nailed the poses and was very comfortable with the male model. Chris limped onto stage and tried her best to have a strong connection with the model. She created nice shapes, but started to feel pain from her foot.
The girls arrive at judging with guest judge Kyle Hagler, IMG manager. Kayla was first to be judged and got reprimanded for not going to the go-sees. In the photo, she gets praise for the body language. Chelsey also got reprimanded (one, casting agent). Nigel was surprised how well Chelsey did in the photos, but Tyra didn't see a model, only a pretty woman. Chris's photo was pretty but the photo was forced. Tyra thought the close-up of Chris was poor. Ann would have gotten a Versace booking (and probably the challenge win) if she wasn't disqualified. Ann's photo was nice, but she lacked emotion. Jane was last; her face lacked emotion. Nigel thought she was stiff. Jane cried in front of the judges about personality. Tyra and the judges give the girls negative remarks about such poor go-see results.
After deliberation, Tyra announced that Kayla was the top photo. The bottom two were Jane and Chris. Chris had energy, but she’s lost investment. Jane had stronger photos, but had personality issues.
Callout Order
1) Kayla
2) Chelsey
3) Ann
4) Jane
5) Chris eliminated
I'm actually surprised how far personality got Chris. After her sister Terra was eliminated early in the competition, I expected Chris to be eliminated soon after. She got lucky with the paparazzi photoshoot because that shot was looking for bubbly. She also did great in the commercial.
