The final three celebrated about being the final three. All three had their doubts. Lisa had a lot of mental and physical abuse to overcome. Angelea sees redemption after having hard work and living off of food stamps. Allison was introverted and still missed her father who she lost to cancer. The three received mail about the CoverGirl ads. Lisa thought Angelea was the biggest competition, even though she's fragile. Allison was intimidated by Lisa's strengths.
The girls arrived at the Blue Place for their CoverGirl print ad and commercial. Paige Cali, director of communications for CoverGirl, told the girls that they would be selling Intense Shadow Blast. Nikos Papadopoulos returned to shoot the girls and was looking for perfection. The girls would be doing beauty shots, which were sorely missed this whole season. The girls had their makeup done and were given scripts to study.
Lisa was first to shoot the photo and, after the wind turned on, she had a lot of movement and emotion. Lisa had amazing eyes in the commercial. During her first take and several takes later, she missed a bit of the natural tone. Allison was next and had to make smaller motions. In the video, she was warned to go very slow. She has sensitivity in her eyes and she needed to try as hard as possible. Her eyes automatically teared as they touched sunlight. I'm still confused as to how she managed to go through two different cycles and we only learned about her condition week nine of this cycle. She had a beach photo shoot back in Cycle 12 and didn't show any problems. They decided to shoot the video with her eyes closed. Allison tried to do her best to go outside of her shell and eventually impressed Jay. Angelea was last and was really nervous about the challenge. Angelea got positive reviews for her photos. She was warned about her over-the-top personality in the recording.
The girls returned and were told they would be having a beach day. They arrived to have their Vogue Italia photo shoot. Dusan Reljin was their photographer and had a very Vogue portfolio. Allison got her eyebrows bleached and immediately looked like a real Vogue girl. Allison knew that she had to do her best to win over the client. Lisa had a lot of movement and motions in her shots. Angelea looked a bit like a stereotypical American model when she was shooting.
The girls got yet another Tyra mail about the final runway show. Jay pointed out that this would be the first runway with a final three. The girls would go through a pool of water, flying through the air and then runway walk to their music. Shannon, Dominique, and Laura arrived to walk with the rest of the girls mostly as decoys, but also for support. Michael Cinco, designer, arrived with the outfits and Lisa's dress matched her perfectly. Angelea had sexiness and Allison's matched her perfectly.
As the girls got their hair done, Laura tried to pump Allison up. Shannon talked about the positive nature of Lisa. Dominique didn't say anything positive about Angelea and instead said some generic facts about the girls. That's the biggest eyebrow raiser here. Angelea was worried because she was going to drown. After all the guests and Tyra arrived, the show was ready. There were some fire dancers and then there was a long sequence of swimming, then a dramatic clothing change with dresses flowing. The girls looked in the back to take tips about the competition. Lisa couldn't really see with the mask. She tried to turn and got hair stuck in her mask and it confused her. It got her lost and she ended up swimming in the wrong direction. There was a lot of preparation and running as the girls got changed in the background. Lisa was harnessed up and looked like she was having a great time. As she was being lowered, she struggled with the wind. She tripped a bit with the long dress, but she marched fiercely.
Angelea was next and was worried about disappointing everyone. She worried about swimming and tried her best to swim even though she popped up almost immediately. Angelea had the immediate quick change with the new wig. She was hoisted in the air and tried to fly a bit overdramatically. Angelea did her 716 walk with all the attitude possible.
Allison was last and had no issue swimming. She ran and got everything changed, worried about the wind issues. Allison emerged in the harness and she looked like a goddess. Her walking was a bit broken by the wind, but she did a great job, better than previously. The girls did their final walk and Jay was proud of all of them. After the show ended, Angelea was upset.
There was a special judging back in Los Angeles. I feel as though there was a re-shoot and Lisa may have won already, but it turned out that Angelea had some form of disqualification that we never learned the truth about. Instead, Allison and Lisa were under the lights of the judges. Along with Nigel Barker and Andre Leon Talley was Jay Manuel. The girls started with the runway challenge. Nigel thought her swimming was elegant, but her walking was still awkward. The wind made her look less graceful. Lisa was a mess in the water and she did a great job trying to deal with the train.
For the commercial, Allison's commercial had some great shots even with her eyes closed. She still had emotion in her closed eyes. Andre wished the script had more pop. Lisa's commercial had some unnecessary flashes that were really distracting. Lisa had a flirty attitude, but both Jay and Tyra thought she was only giving 50 percent.
The print ad for Allison was pretty, but it was vacant. She lacked smize. Lisa's ad was next and even though she had one eye in the shot, it was a sexy shot. Lisa thought outside of the box and had an alluring shot.
The judges deliberated about the two contestants. Lisa had the most personality and matured. Allison was inspiring and could be considered a muse. After some deliberation, the two girls arrived in front of the judges. Tyra played the second part to Modelland and announced that the winner was Lisa. Lisa was excited because of how amazing everything was. Allison was happy for Lisa and loved her opportunity to be on, it almost seemed as though she was the runner up a third time. In the long run, Allison deserved to make it to the end with one of the strongest portfolios, but she just couldn't win.
