America's Next Top Model Shortens Their Expectations of Their Models
Tyra Banks has a history of having a lot of faith in the types of model contestants that aren't the most conventional or the most popular in the fashion world. In the past, she's spoken out on the importance of having plus size women in the industry. Now, as she is preparing for her 13th season of "America's Next Top Model," the famous TV show host and formal model is now welcoming more petite sized ladies for a chance at becoming a top model.
Mercurynews.com tells a story of 5'5 tall Brittany Markert from Livermore, Calif., who is overjoyed with the opportunity that has almost never been handed to girls her size.
"I never in a million years thought I would end up on 'Top Model,' especially since I'm 'short," she said.
You never know, America's Next Top Model might just change the perspective for all of those in the modeling world who never gave those under 5'9 a second glance.
