Oscar nominated actress Amy Adams has officially been cast as Lois Lane in Superman: Man of Steel, premiering December 2012. She will appear alongside costars Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, and Kevin Costner in the Warner Bros. reboot. The news was revealed Friday.
She may also be working alongside Viggo Mortensen, a possible Zod, rumored to have given up a role in Snow White and the Huntsman.
Adams has not revealed any major details of the role just yet, according to the HD Room.
The actress has been nominated for three Oscars in the past, most recently for her performance in The Fighter. The Los Angeles Times reports this is farther than 1978’s Lois Lane, Margot Kidder, was in her career at the time.
