Amy Adams Set To Play Janis Joplin In New Movie
Amy Adams, star of the award-winning film “Doubt,” is set to play late rocker Janis Joplin in an upcoming biopic about her life. Producer Marty Bowen, good friend of Twilight producer Wyck Godfrey, will be working on the movie.
"We have a couple of films that'll probably go that he'll be overseeing; one's a Fernando Meirelles Janis Joplin movie with Amy Adams playing Janis Joplin,” said Godfrey, according to Contact Music.
There have been many movies over the years that were going to be about the famous rocker’s life and death; however, they all stopped mid-production for different reasons. A few famous starlets that have planned on playing Joplin include Renee Zellweger, Melissa Etheridge, Courtney Love, Brittany Murphy, Lindsay Lohan, Scarlett Johansson, and Pink.
Joplin remains one of the most famous female musicians in the rock industry. She met an untimely death at the age of 27 from a heroin overdose in 1970.
