Amy Winehouse battles her drug addiction by smoking pot
Amy Winehouse has never been the conventional type but smoking marijuana to battle a drug addiction? The singer uses pot to suppress her cravings for stronger drugs like cocaine or crack, the British tabloid The Sun reports. Winehouse currently resides on the Caribbean island St. Lucia, where she has been recovering from her drug addiction for the last two months. Her addiction had brought her to the verge of death, according to the Sun.
But now, a friend said, "Amy hasn't touched crack or cocaine for months. She has been really good." They added, "Drugs are easy to get in St. Lucia but she has just stuck to smoking dope. The amazing thing is she smokes all morning then sees her personal trainer in the afternoon and is put through a grueling workout."Incidentally, Winehouse had recently announced that she planned on moving to Jamaica and recording her new album there. The island is known for its lax enforcement of drug laws as far as marijuana is concerned, or as The Sun puts it, as the "isle of druggies."
